As part of the Put a Roof Over Their Heads program, Khmer Solar has installed solar systems in more than 250 primary schools throughout Cambodia. The systems provide each school with electricity to power a computer for 4 to 5 hours each day. Computers in some schools have Internet and email access through satellite communication.

Following is a typical configuration of a school computer system:

Solar modules: 3x Kyocera KC60
Charge controller: Steca Solarix Jota (12A)
Battery: Haze 12V Deep Cycle
DC-AC Inverter: Genius 600W
The Put a Roof Over Their Heads program is an initiative by American Assistance for Cambodia and Japan Relief for Cambodia to provide buildings, teachers, supplies, and computers to some of the 3,000 villages across Cambodia that have no school.
